It’s selfish to not share your message…

Someone once told us, “It is selfish to not share your message.” At first, I didn’t really understand it, but the more I thought about it… The more I realized how important it is that we all share our message, our truth, with the world.

If you have a firm belief or story to share with the world… What good will it do anyone bottled up inside?

Get out there and BE inspired…

A few nights ago we attended an event underneath the Gardener Expressway. A highway in Toronto that is known for brutal traffic, that runs along Lake Ontario. After traveling the past couple of years, and returning to the big smoke… I really wanted to get back into the scene and see what’s going on. Luckily my girl Claudia is still in the loop and suggested we go check out a light exhibit at The Bentway.

Walking towards the installation was crazy. The bright blue lights were rolling like waves under the highway, making the thousands of people look like little ants. The event was called Waterlicht, created by a Dutch guy named Daan Roosegaarde. This LED spectacle was created to open people’s eyes to our rapidly changing environment. What if the glaciers were to melt? What would happen to our city? Your city? Town? Talk about thought-provoking. If the water rose that high… The dreaded Gardner Expressway would be the cities savior.

As we walked through the exhibit, imagining the water 15 or more feet above our heads we realized how important this message is, and were so grateful Daan shared it. Kinda makes you want to do something important, doesn’t it?

Your thoughts are powerful…

This light installation showed us the power of one person’s message. Daan took action on his thoughts, and shared his idea with hundreds of thousands of people, taking his exhibit to 12 cities across the globe.

The message you want to share with the world is important. When you are gifted an idea to share your beliefs and show people a new perspective… You could change lives.

You could make an income from sharing your message…

This is the cool part! You can create a business around any idea these days! It could be based on your passion for the environment, arts & crafts, fashion, fitness, food, technology, design, or all things education! There is really no limit here. (Need an idea? Businesses are usually created around resolving a pain that the business owner once experienced. We will use Brian + me as an example.

Throughout my life, I have been terribly insecure. This led me down the path of binge eating, drinking, doing drugs, being a shopaholic, and getting into relationships that didn’t serve me. Which led to anxiety, depression, weight gain, and losing my hair.

I don’t want others to have to go through that crap, and if they are I want to show them how to change! So that has become my mission in life. This is the message I share with the world, and it has become a strong part of our business model, teaching people self-love above all else, and then being able to fully love others. (You will see this message more & more as we continue to refine our message as we evolve in ourselves & our biz.)

I know that this is a topic near & dear to Brian’s heart too, but his reasons for sharing his message are a little different than mine.

Growing up Brian was raised in a huge family, with a lot of kids to feed. There wasn’t a lot of money on extra things. Adults in his life told him he needed to go to college and get a good job. This brought up a lot of fears around money for him.

As he worked in the rat race for years, the straw that broke the camel’s back was working as a firefighter. With all the trauma he had to see he knew there was a better way to live. This is why Brian shares his message so loud & clear when it comes to building a business online because he knows the freedom it could bring a couple financially… Not to mention the flexibility to be where you want, when you want, together.

So what’s the message you want to share?

There are limitless potentials for couple-preneurs building a business together. You have both experienced so much in your lives, that once you put your heads together, and sum up all of that wisdom you share… You could really inspire a lot of people!

But it doesn’t stop there. You could educate people, and even entertain them.

If you have been through something crazy & popped out the other side a better person… Share it.

Maybe you are on some kind of growth journey right now, even better… Share that!

If you have a belief that could impact even just one person… Share it.

You know you have it in you to make an impact… But maybe you aren’t too sure where to start.
